Breaking: Bayer midfielder passes Milan medical, set to sign this afternoon

Milan are close to signing Hakan Calhanoglu.

Update, 1130 BST:

Milan are set to sign Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Hakan Calhonglu at around 1600 local time, or 1500 BST.

The German-Turkish midfielder's medical is over, and it doesn’t look like there are any problems. The new Milan signing is now heading to the Italian National Olympic Committee, si that he can receive permission to wear Milan’s shirt.

The talented free-kick taker is set to join Musacchio (Villarreal), Kessie (Atalanta), Ricardo Rodriguez (Wolfsburg), André Silva (Porto) and Borini (Sunderland) for €20 million, with another four more coming in bonuses.

He is set to sign a deal which will keep him at the San Siro until 2021, worth 2.5 million a year.

The midfielder landed in Milan on Sunday in order to finalize his agreement with the Serie A side, which ended last season in a disappointing sixth place.

Signed in 2014 for € 15.5 million, the 23-year-old has gone on to score 17 goals in three Bundesliga seasons, though he missed four months last year due to a ban.
