Breaking: €30m Chelsea, Inter target skips medical

Kostas Manolas has skipped this morning’s medical with Zenit, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Greek international was set to move to Roberto Mancini’s side, having distanced himself from Inter - who were in close pursuit - and Chelsea, who were also interested.

The 25-year-old was expected at the Villa Stuart clinic this morning, a formality for a move that had essentially been agreed.

The Roma player didn’t show up, however. Moreover, Di Marzio reveals that Manolas’s entourage is disagreeing with Zenit over his wages.

Manolas wants to agree on a sum in euros, not Russian rubles.

Roma were set to sell him to the RPL side for 30 million.

Considered one of the best at his position, Manolas joined Roma three season ago, and has been pursued by Inter, who seem to have angered his entourage enough for him to turn to Zenit.

Beyond that, Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte is known to be an admirer, and likes the Serie A star, who has a lot of Champions League experience.
