Breaking: Luciano Spalletti steps down as Roma coach

It’s just been reported by Sky Sport 24 that Luciano Spalletti has left his position as coach of AS Roma. The Tuscan tactician led the club to second place this season and a return to the Champions League group stages next year.

It seems almost inevitable that he will take up the position of Head Coach at Inter Milan and now he has freed himself from his contract in the capital, he will be free to negotiate a deal with the Nerazzurri.

Spalletti returned to the Giallorossi for a second spell in charge in January 2016 where he guided the club to a third place finish. This season began badly when they were eliminated from the Champions League at the play-off stage by Porto but their league form has been consistent throughout the past nine months where they finished four points behind champions Juventus.

Latest reports suggest that Spalletti will be unveiled as Inter’s new boss in the next 48 hours with current Sassuolo tactician, Eusebio Di Francesco set to replace him at the Stadio Olimpico.
