Breaking: Man Utd beat Chelsea to €85m signing of Lukaku

Manchester United and Everton have agreed an € 85 million price-tag for Romelu Lukaku, according to the BBC.

The Belgian striker was believed to be José Mourinho’s second choice to strengthen the Red Devils’ attack after Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata. According to the report, however, Manchester United have retired from the race to sign the Spaniard and have agreed Lukau price-tag with Everton.

The two Premier League clubs are also in talks for Wayne Rooney’s Everton switch and during negotiations for the Englishman’s return to the Goodison Park, the Red Devils and the Toffees have also reached an agreement for Lukaku.

Lukaku is a long time target of Manchester United and if he will complete his move to the Old Trafford, he will become the fourth client of Mino Raiola to join the Red side of Manchester after the likes of Sergio Romero, Paul Pogba and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Lukaku was believed to be Chelsea’s top summer striking target but if the report is confirmed, the Blues will have to look for a new striker in the summer with Alvaro Morata and Andrea Belotti believed to be on Conte’s shopping list.
