According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Chelsea midfield star Nemanja Matic. The 28-year-old Serbian international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and a chance to re-unite with his former boss Jose Mourinho. The Portuguese tactician has made no secret of the fact that he would like to bring his former charge to the club and now a deal looks to be close.
 

The imminent arrival of Frenchman Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco is a clear indication that Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is not convinced by Matic and despite recent talk of a possible contract extension, it seems as though he’s played his last game for the West London side.
 

Mourinho is said to admire the player’s mental strength after the two of them had a brief falling-out in 2015 when the Portuguese coach substituted him after just 28 minutes during a defeat at Southampton. Matic bounced back from that and became an integral part of their title win the same season.
