Breaking: Monaco will sell €42m Man United, Chelsea target this summer

Monaco have accepted that they will have to sell Tiémoué Bakayoko this summer, Le10Sport exclusively reveal.

The tough-tackling midfielder is well-liked by Chelsea, Manchester United and PSG, with Jose Mourinho especially seeing him as a player he can use to replace Michael Carrick with. The Sun wrote recently of a possible 42 million offer being tabled by the Red Devils.

The 22-year-old defensive midfielder is part of a Monaco team that is leading League 1, and has also qualified to the Champions League final four.

Monaco have resigned themselves to selling the player, who won’t accept a new deal, with his current one expiring in June 2018. To minimise the risk of losing Bakayoko for nothing, the Principality’s club will have to make the most of the current situation.

Antonio Conte is also known to be a fan of the 22-year-old, having already asked Chelsea’s directors for him, and having already contacted the Frenchman’s representatives, too.

A midfield dynamo, Bakayoko has made 42 appearances all season, and was acquired for only €8 million in 2014.
