Calhanoglu lands in Italy to have AC Milan medical

Hakan Calhanoglu is all but a Milan player, we can report.

The Turkish international landed in Milan earlier today, telling the press that he was going to sign a deal with the Serie A giants.  Also chased by Arsenal and Tottenham, he revealed that he was “going to Milan to sign my contract.

“I'd like to thank Bayer Leverkusen, the directors and the fans for three fantastic years, now I'm looking forward to a new challenge.

Having arrived at the club's headquarters, he said that he was “happy to be here”. The 23-year-old missed the final four months of last season due because of a FIFA suspension.  He has still scored nine goals this season for the Champions League hopefuls and his country this season.

Also chased by Lazio, he is set to undergo a medical this afternoon and sign his deal. He is set to join alongside Mateo Musacchio, Andre Silva, Franck Kessié and Ricardo Rodriguez, the latter also joining from the Bundesliga.
