Casillas: it'd be 'marvellous' to move to Serie A and face Buffon

Iker Casillas has admitted that he is interested in moving to Serie A.

Speaking recently, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper has dealt PSG fans a bit of a blow. The Ligue 1 runners-up aren’t doing very well between the sticks, with Alphonse Areola not getting a chance for some reason, and shotstopper Kevin Trapp struggling to impose himself as the Number 1.

L’Equipe had reported before that the 36-year-old had been offered to the Parisian side.

“Serie A? It would be a nice choice,” he recently declared according to the French media.

“There are some great teams, the football is important, I like it.

“At the moment, I’m in Portugal, but yes, I’d love to come to Italy. And it would be marvellous to play against Gigi Buffon for many more matches. Marvellous…”

The Real Madrid legend played first-team football for the Liga giants between 1999 and 2015, before opting for a move to Porto.

Recruited to Porto by Antero Henrique, who is now set to become PSG’s sporting director.
