Chelsea & Bournemouth agree deal for Bosnian keeper

According to Sky Sports (via The Daily Star) it’s second time lucky for Bournemouth in their pursuit of Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic. The Bosnian international looked set to leave Stamford Bridge in January for the south-coast club but the deal fell through when Chelsea boss Antonio Conte failed to find an adequate replacement.

Now it’s understood that The Cherries have had a £10M bid accepted by the champions although the player himself needs to agree personal terms and undergo a medical at the Vitality Stadium. The 29-year-old’s arrival will provide strong competition to current number one Artur Boruc who had an impressive campaign to help his club to a ninth place finish in the Premier League.

Begovic has been frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities at Stamford Bridge and a few months ago declared that; "I find it very difficult, not playing for a long time and that’s something that I would like to do. If the club would allow me to do that, under the right circumstances, then that’s what I’ll do."
