Chelsea chase Liverpool target as alternative to €90m Lukaku

Chelsea are set to chase Alexandre Lacazette, according to the latest reports from L’Equipe.

The Frenchman could be a good alternative to the €90 million Romelu Lukaku, but is also wanted by Arsenal, Manchester United and Liverpool.

With striker Diego Costa on his way out and Atletico Madrid ready to scoop him up, the Blues need to find an alternative.

Their original plan, Romelu Lukaku, could end up being too expensive, forcing them to settle for someone more affordable. Rather than splash up the €90 million Everton want for the former Pensioner, Chelsea could opt to sign Alexandre Lacazette.

Ironically, Atletico Madrid are considered to be the club closest to Lacazette, and were rumoured to have reached an agreement with him a few weeks ago, president Jean-Michel Aulas then dismissing the reports by claiming that the Colchoneros had been in talks for the 25-year-old for “years”.

Lacazette is coming off a stellar season in France, where he has netted 37 goals in 45 total games for the Ligue 1 side.
