Chelsea, Juventus top target’s release clause revealed

Chelsea and Juventus are known to be long-time admirers of Benfica centre-back Victor Lidelof. Both European giants, however, will have to meet the player’s € 30 million release clause to welcome his services.

Juventus have short options in their defensive department with Andrea Barzagli who will remain out of action for the next two months and Giorgio Chiellini who has already picked up two muscle injuries so far this season. The solid-rock defender skipped 15 games last season due to physical hassles.

Chelsea are also looking for defence reinforcement as John Terry could leave the club at the end of the season as his contract expires in June 2017 and the former England International has only been given short game time by new manager Antonio Conte this term.

Lidelof, 23, is a top target of both Chelsea and Juventus, though Inter are also keeping a close eye on the Sweden International.

Lindelof’s € 30 million release clause, however, could prevent Juventus from making a concrete offer in the January window despite Medhi Benatia leaving to play the African Cup of nation with Morocco national team.
