Chelsea plan £132m Madrid raid on James and Morata

After potentially missing out on their number one target Romelu Lukaku to rival Premier League club Manchester United, Chelsea have turned their attention to Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and James Rodríguez, as they plan a £132m swoop for the pair. This is according to reports from Spanish outlet Diario Gol.

Blues boss Antonio Conte was upset with the Chelsea board after it emerged that 24-year-old Lukaku had stuck a deal with Man United, but he has since made-up with hierarchy and now, with them, is focused on bringing attacks Morata and James from La Liga giants Madrid.

24-year-old Morata socred over 20 goals for the reigning Champions League champions, despite only making a handful of appearances, and likewise 25-year-old Columbian international James has not appeared regularly for the Madrid outfit.
The pair have grown disgruntled with their lack of games, opening the door for Conte to come in full force and plant a bid for them, with a figure of £132m reported.
