Chelsea still interested in Napoli star despite Rudiger signing

Chelsea are reported to be still interested in signing Napoli star Kalidou Koulibaly despite the recent signing of Antonio Rudiger from Roma, according to a report of Il Corriere della Sera (via SpazioNapoli).

The Senegalese star is a long time target of Antonio Conte with Chelsea that saw several bids rejected last summer as Napoli were not open to sell their rock-solid defender.

The Serie A giants are still not available to talk about a possible sale of the 26-year-old but the Italian paper claims Chelsea have still not retired from the race to sign Koulibaly who has imposed himself as one of Serie A’s most reliable defenders during his three-year spell in Italy.

Rudiger’s recent € 40 million signing from AS Roma could meant the Premier League champions had retired from the race to sign Koulibaly who, however, is reported to be still on Chelsea’s sights.

Koulibay is also being linked with a move to Liverpool and his agent has recently refused to rule out a possible exit of his client in the summer claiming that ‘anything can happen before the end of the summer transfer window.’
