    Chelsea target Rudiger ‘dreams’ of playing in the Premier League

    AS Roma centre-back Antonio Rudiger is a long-time target of Antonio Conte’s Chelsea. The Blues would have made an offer to sign the Germany International last summer, but the former Stuttgart defender picked up a knee injury weeks before the beginning of EURO 2016 and is now returning to action with the giallorossi.

    The 23-year-old defender has released an interview with Italian paper Il Tempo revealing that he dreams of playing in the Premier League one day.

    “I’m happy at AS Roma at the moment, but my dream is playing in England one day.”

    ​Rudiger has also kept the door open for a possible move to Juventus in the future: “Never say never in football, but I’m happy in this club right now.”

    AS Roma made Rudiger’s move permanent last summer for € 9 million and the highly rated defender has already registered eight appearances with one goal and one assist so far this season. His contract with AS Roma runs until 2020.
