Chelsea to open new contract talks with Barcelona target Moses

Victor Moses is impressing under Antonio Conte at Chelsea so far this season. Scorer of four goals in 14 appearances, the Nigerian winger was decisive in last week-end’s London derby against Tottenham scoring the winner in the second half after that his teammate’s Pedro had levelled the game seconds before the half time whistle.

With Barcelona looking for a new right back in the January transfer window, the 25-year-old is said to have emerged as a possible transfer target of the LaLiga giants that have yet to find a long time replacement for Dani Alves.

The blaugrana are running out of options as Stephan Lichtsteiner is set to remain at Juventus after Dani Alves’ fibula injury which will keep the Brazilian out of action for the next four months at least.

According to Sky Sports UK, however, Barcelona could be forced to drop the powerful Chelsea winger as well as Moses and Chelsea will begin new contract talks this week. Moses is a key player in Antonio Conte’s Chelsea 3-4-3 as he’s the man who gives balance to the whole team thanks to his endless runs on the right flank, not to mention that he’s also a very good finisher having begun his career as attacking winger.

Barcelona are set to miss out on another transfer target as Victor Moses could sign a contract extension with Chelsea pretty soon. The Nigerian's current deal with the Premier League table leaders expires in 2019.
