CM EXCLUSIVE Romano: Cesena's Sensi tracked by Juve, Milan

    • Fabrizio Romano, translated by Marco Gori
Another Sensi could well take Italian football by storm.

This one, however, isn’t based in the capital like the former owners of AS Roma... but in Romagna. Cesena’s Stefano Sensi has already been compared to Marco Verratti, and the club’s Sporting Director, Rino Foschi, knows he has a precious asset in his hands.

According to cm.com’s own Fabrizio Romano, the 20–year-old has already attracted the attention of Juventus, Roma and Napoli (who have a great rapport with Sensi’s agent, Riso) and especially Genoa Coach Giampiero Gasperini.

Milan have made a move, too, and are following Sensi very closely, sending scouts to watch him every week and already contacting his agent to see what can be done.

Stung by their inability to get Daniele Baselli, they’re hoping to nab a player with similar talent but a different mentality: Sensi has character, is fearless but also armed with a footballing intelligence quite outside the norm.

Cesena Director Foschi, however, already has a price tag in the region of €10-11 million in mind. Juve have already inquired about the price without beginning negotiations. That price is too high.

All teams are clearly looking to remunerate Cesena some other way, either with player swaps, loans, a smaller cash transfer and maybe the possibility of keeping Sensi on loan.
