CM Sources – Giampaolo on the brink, Sampdoria urge to find a solution for Cassano
Giampaolo had never been on the brink before today, but now there are consistent chances to see him leaving the club, should he fail to get the three points against one of Serie A’s relegation candidates.
Meantime, Antonio Cassano is training apart from the rest of the senior squad. He’s not part of Sampdoria’s project anymore, but the player wants to stay at Marassi until his contract expires in 2017.
Neither Giampaolo, not president Massimo Ferrero wants him at the club and many other sides had been requesting his services, but Cassano wants to stay in the ‘club that he loves’. The two parties are still in talks, trying to find a solution for the player’s future.
A solution, however, still seems close as the player is asking himself: what would happen if Giampaolo is sacked and a new manager would reconsider my role in the squad?
