After the outburst after the game against Milan, Maurizio Zamparini has not changed his mind and, in a statement on the official website of Palermo, officially announced his intention to sell the club.

"I gave the task of identifying an" Advisor "(bank or otherwise) which will be in charge of the sale of shares in Palermo football club. My decision is clear even though I am sad to leave such great fans as those of Palermo with which I am bound by deep mutual affection.

Certainly the new ownership of the club must be at a level which can ensure the continuation of objectives: of a big club. It is all down to the fact that I feel defeated and leave beaten by a pseudo sports-world, where, despite my twenty-five year fight, the sporting values are increasingly gone and where the economic and media powers reign of 3 to 4 clubs who, by any means, only want to divide the scudetti between themselves.

Tired of fighting also because of my age, I hope to leave the helm to younger people who have the enthusiasm and strength to do, fight and change for the better where I could not: bring the world of football into the field of "Sport" and its true values, ensuring matches have guarantees of fairness and fair play and can be won by "equality" and "the best".
