Costacurta names the best and worst manager he had at AC Milan

AC Milan legend Alessandro Costacurta has released an interview with Corriere dello Sport ahead of tonight’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Milan.

The former Italy defender has been asked his thoughts on the managers he had during his career at AC Milan.

“I improved a lot under Capello. He was really focused on the individual growth. He’s always been very demanding, I don’t know whether that was real or just a way to keep everyone concentrated.”

“I don’t think Liedholm liked me at the beginning, whist Sacchi was obsessed with tactic and discipline. Sometimes you could hear him shouting to players even if he was sleeping during the night.”

Zaccheroni trusted me a lot. He used to involve me and Maldini. I’d say he was the best coach I had at AC Milan alongside Tabarez who is a real gentleman.”

Terim, on the other hand, was very presumptuous, just like an emperor. I have no doubt. He is the worst manager I had at AC Milan.”

“Ronaldo is definitely the best striker I played against. He was always able to dribble his direct rival, regardless the way he was marked. I also played against Maradona, but sleeping the night before facing Ronaldo was difficult.”
