De Boer on the brink, but Inter have no clear ideas of potential successor: all the candidates

Inter manager Frank De Boer is on the brink of sacking after losing six of the opening twelve games this season. The Dutchman’s future is under strict scrutiny and the next Serie A game against Torino scheduled for Wednesday night could be the decisive one for the former Ajax tactician.

Suning chiefs and President Erik Thohir will also be in Milan on the same day as a shareholders' meeting had already been scheduled for Friday. Reasons behind the squad’s result crisis will be also discussed during the meeting between Thohir and new owners.

Meantime, however, Inter have no clear ideas of who the potential successor of De Boer could be.
Calciomercato.com has exclusively found out that Inter chiefs have all different ideas about the future tactician of the benamata.

Erik Thohir seems the be the only one standing by Frank De Boer’s side, whilst Javier Zanetti and Piero Ausilio would like to appoint Leonardo for six months and offer him a role in the club’s control room after his spell on Inter’s bench.

Former Inter president Massimo Moratti is also pushing to hire Leonardo. Moratti has no legal power to take decisions in the club, but new owners are considering him as a credible advisor given his experience in Italian football and Inter.

Stefano Vecchi (Inter primavera coach) and Stefano Pioli are alos being considered by the club’s board. Vecchi was spotted in the stands of the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia yesterday. Kia Joorabchian, who did some business with Inter in the summer, helping the nerazzurri to nab Joao Mario and hire De Boer is now proposing Andre Villas Boas if Inter would really decide to sack De Boer.

The Dutch manager will regularly hold a pre-match press conference tomorrow ahead of the Torino clash.
