‘Del Piero and Baggio my idols’: summer target gives Juve transfer hope

No secret that Juventus are long time admirers of Fiorentina star Federico Bernardeschi. The Italy International has yet to reach an agreement with Fiorentina over a contract extension and Juventus have opened transfer talks to sign him.

The Old Lady is expected to pay a fee between € 40 and € 50 million to secure the services of the talented Fiorentina star. The two clubs, however, have just started negotiations and are now trying to reach an agreement.

Meantime, Bernardeschi has released an interview with Uefa.com while on International duty with Italy national team.

The 23-year-old has praised Alex Del Piero and Roberto Baggio, two former Juventus stars, giving the bianconeri hope that he could soon move to the Allianz Stadium.
“My three Italy idols are Roberto Baggio, Alex Del Piero and Francesco Totti. I am an attacking player and I’ve always liked players like them”, Bernardeschi said.

Talking about the U21 European Championship, Bernardeschi has also praised one of possible future teammates, Patrik Shcick, who had his medical with Juventus yesterday. “There are many great footballers: I’d say the best so far are Saul, Asensio and Schick.”
