Juan Manuel Vargas has been close to leave Fiorentina in the last two transfer windows but the Viola seem determined to give the Peruvian winger another chance.

In the summer 2010, Bayern Munich offered €12M and the services of Diego Contento for Vargas, but Fiorentina turned down their offer.

In January 2012, it was Zenit St. Petersburg which came forward for the player but once again Fiorentina refused to negotiate the sale of Vargas.

However, considering his disappointing contribution over the past 12 months, Vargas has seriously compromised his role in the club.

But Delio Rossi is determined to give him another chance and made a gentlemen’s agreement with the player who has four months to prove his worth. Fiorentina would then allow him to leave in the summer.
