€180m star has doubts about joining Real Madrid

Monaco want to hold onto Kylian M’Bappe, despite Real Madrid’s strong interest, according to reports from Spain.

The French star scored 26 goals in all competitions last season, adding eight assists and shining as Monaco made their way to the Champions League semi-finals.

Marca confirm that the Principality side want the 18-year-old to stay for another year, but hope that he will leave for a very high price (180 million) if not, similar to their approach to Anthony Martial.

There’s a problem, the same which kept M’Bappe away from the Merengues when he was still an academy player: he believes there is too much competition in Madrid.

Even the Galacticos’ president, Florentino Perez, revealed that he thought that playing time could be an issue.

“if he [M’Bappe] is joining this year? Honestly, I don’t know,” Perez said to Spanish media (via Le10Sport).

“He has to decide if he wants to come here to play, or if it’s better to continue where he is and keep developing”.

“If Zidane were to ok the move, I’d also have to work out who leaves.

“Not everyone can play, eleven players and that’s it.”
