€39m Chelsea star refuses move away

Michy Batshuayi wants to stay at Chelsea, according to the latest reports from France.

The Belgian international has had a frustrating time in London so far despite his €39 million transfer fee, playing only 792 minutes in all competitions this season, being stuck behind Diego Costa, and being linked to Newcastle.

Recent transfer speculation indicated that Turkish contenders Fenerbahce wanted the 23-year-old, who is still not apparently in Antonio Conte’s plans, the Italian planning to replace departee Diego Costa (who may stay anyway) first with Romelu Lukaku, then Alvaro Morata.

Moreover, it looked like Batshuayi - who banged in 26 goals in his time at Marseille in Ligue 1 action - was tempted, seeing as the Canaries offered him an enticing 4 million yearly salary.

Now, however, France Football confirm that he wants to stay and fight for his chances - despite only starting one Premier League game last season, and totalling 19 appearances as a substitute, though he did boast a minute-per-goal ratio of 72 minutes.
