Eder sweating on Italy and Inter future after delivering mediocre performances

Former Sampdoria star Eder Citadin thought he had advanced his career when he completed a € 13 million switch to join Serie A giants Inter last January.

The Nerazzurri boss Roberto Mancini preferred to sign Eder over his former teammate Roberto Soriano, but the Brazilian-born striker’s performances at the San Siro have been highly disappointing so far.

The Italian tactician has been giving Eder enough playing time to show off his skills, but the player has failed to live up to his potential. When the 29-year-old striker had moved to Inter, he was supposed to solve the Nerrazzurri’s goal draught, a result he has yet to achieve.

Mancini is not the only one affected by Eder’s crisis. Italy boss Antonio Conte has always showed full confidence in the former Cesena ace, so much so Eder even started Italy’s friendly match game against Spain yesterday.

Yet again, Eder’s performance at Udine’s Dacia Arena was poor. He did not have any impact of the match, he showed the usual tendency to disappear from games, not to mention he was unable to create one single goal attempt.

Yesterday’s friendly match was the first time an Inter striker started an Azzurri game since Gianpaolo Pazzini in 2012.

Eder is probably struggling to adapt and cope with pressure, something he experiences every time he changes club, but starting from Inter’s next game against Torino he’s urged to make a quick U-turn if he doesn’t want to waste all the good things he has done until now and lose his place at Inter Italy national team.
