England, Southgate should soon be confirmed as head coach

Gareth Southgate had taken oven from Sam Allardyce, who resigned only after one game as England's national team head coach because of an ongoing scandal. There were rumors over the past few months linking Roberto Mancini,Arsene Wenger and Eddie Howe to the job but it now seems like the English Football Association will soon be confirming Southgate as England's official head coach. England take on Scotland in a world cup qualifer this week and then Spain later on next week in a friendly game.

According to the Telegraph, the plan would be to announce him after the Spain game, barring a defeat to Scotland at Wembley Stadium. The Spain game should not affect the FA's decision and it seems like the English FA have already spoken to some of the other candindates to let them know of their upcoming decsion. England are currently first in their qualifying group as they have accumulated seven points in three games. Lithuania and Slovenia are currently second and third in group F with 5 points each.
