Epl review: Newcastle-Liverpool 1-1, the player ratings
Newcastle add to Liverpool’s woes as the reds struggle to gain a win at St James’ Park. Liverpool failed to be clinical and they drop to seventh in the premier league table. Newcastle remained resilient against the dominant Liverpool side and defended cleverly to earn a point for their side. Newcastle started the game positively however after a few bright spells Liverpool finally had their moment to shine. In the 29th minute, Coutinho whipped a fast shot from 25 yards out and curled the ball into the right hand side of the net . Newcastle gained some momentum and didn’t let the goal worry them too much as Joselu equalised.
It was a funny goal as Matip tried to tackle Joselu but however he ended up hitting the ball to Joselu’s legs and then the ball went past Mignolet and into the net. It is definitely worrying times for Klopp and Liverpool. He needs to regroup and hatch a plan as soon as possible or it could already be the end of the title race for the reds….
