Eto'o could get a three day disqualification

Calciomercato.com asked Fifa agent Lello Stancati an opinion on the incident where Samuel Eto'o head butted Chievo player Cesar and what the possible outcomes could be.

I was truly struck by what happened yesterday at the stadium in Verona. A champion of the stature of Eto'o, who has repeatedly distinguished himself by his actions off the pitch in his battle against racism, deliberately struck with a header Chievo defender Cesar. The incident was not seen by the referee or his assistants including the fourth man on the sidelines, and so it was not sanctioned. For this reason the test on television will apply. Technically, under the Code of Sports Justice, I think that Eto'o will certainly be disqualified. For this type of breach of discipline there is a minimum three-day suspension for violent conduct to another player, a penalty which may extend up to the five-match ban in cases of particular gravity. I think it is less likely that he will get a temporary suspension, also foreseen in the Regulations, because I do not think the gesture was of such an extreme severity as to merit disqualification of more than five days.
