Everton agree to sign England Under-21 star

Everton have agreed a deal with Sunderland to sign Jordan Pickford, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 23-year-old impressed many throughout his 2016/17 Premier League season with the Black Cats, but it’s the Toffees who have decided to come in and strike a deal.

Sunderland were relegated following an abysmal campaign in the Premier League, with Pickford as one of the stand-out performers for the side, picking up four clean-sheets in 31 league games.

The deal, which will consist of a number of add-ons and clauses, is said reach about £30 million – Sunderland’s original asking price for the Washington-born shot-stopper.

The Merseyside club, though, will have to wait until the end of Pickford’s Under-21 European Championship campaign in Poland before tying up the deal completely. Pickford has been vocal in stating that all transfer arrangements would have to put on hold until after the competition.
