Everton target French striker to replace Lukaku

Reports from Transfer Market Web state that Everton has lined up Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud to replace Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian international has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer stating that he has a desire to play Champions League football next season.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has wasted no time in searching for replacements despite no deal being in place at the current time. The Dutch tactician is already close to signing Spanish striker Sandro Ramirez for £5M from Malaga and the portal now believes the 30-year-old Frenchman will be next.

It may not be all plain sailing however, with reports also stating that Marseille are in the hunt for Giroud in an attempt to take him back to his homeland. The player himself is anxious for regular first-team football next season in the build up to the World Cup Finals in Russia in 2018. Arsenal look to be close to securing the services of Alexandre Lacazette and that would seem to indicate that Giroud no longer figures in the plans of coach Arsene Wenger.
