Everton & West Ham United to fight it out for Juventus midfielder

Reports from FootMercato suggest that Everton and West Ham United lead the race to sign Juventus midfielder Mario Lemina. The 23-year-old Gabon international has slipped down the pecking order in Turin and with the arrival on Wednesday of Douglas Costa, his future at the club looks even more uncertain.

Frustrated at the lack of regular first-team action, Lemina could push for a move away from the Serie A champions. The former French Under-21 star made 29 appearances in all competitions for the Old Lady last season, starting just eight times in the league. His versatility and being able to slot in at right-back as well as patrol the midfield areas makes him a summer target for a host of clubs but the Premier League duo look to be leading the chase.

Lemina has a contract until 2020 and Juventus coach Massimo Allegri has stated that the club are in no hurry to sell the player. The Italian tactician wants strength in depth next term as he looks to make yet another assault for the Champions League crown the club last won in 1996.
