Ex Inter boss heads to the Premier League

Crystal Palace are set to appoint former Inter Milan and Ajax boss Frank de Boer as their next manager, reports BBC Sport.

The former Dutch international got sacked from I Nerazzurri in November of last year, following a bad run of form with the Serie A side.

This shouldn’t take away, though, from the remarkable job the 47-year-old did with Ajax during his time there, becoming the first ever manager of the Dutch League to win four consecutive Eredivisie titles on the bounce.

The Eagles have been left without a boss since the sudden departure of ex-England manager Sam Allardyce, who retired from football management without warning, having kept the side from relegation to the Championship last season.

Palace fans have been eagerly anticipating an announcement with regards to the vacant managerial position for some time, with numerous names rumoured in the press but nothing materialising. They now have cause to celebrate, as the club looks to be set for the next campaign in a new Dutch total-football mould with de Boer.
