Exclsuive: the truth on Deulofeu’s return to AC Milan from Barcelona

According to Spanish media, Gerard Deulofeu would be interested in a return to AC Milan in January. The former Everton flop is not a regular starter at the Camp Nou and in a World Cup year he wants to play as much games as possible to make it to Russia.

According to our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano, however, AC Milan are not going to make a loan offer to sign Deulofeu in the winter transfer window.

The rossoneri had had a chance to sign Deulofeu this past summer but they eventually decided not to make any offer for the talented winger.

The reason behind AC Milan’s snub is pretty simple.

The Serie A giants, in fact, knew they would have mainly used a 3-5-2 formation this season and that would have left no space for the Spaniard who wanted to remain at AC Milan but was signed by Barcelona instead as the blaugrana had a € 12 million option to buy to take him to the Camp Nou.

Deulufeu had joined AC Milan on a dry loan deal and would have had to make return to Everton if he hadn’t accept to join Barcelona.
