Exclusive: AC Milan open talks for Croatian stars

AC Milan have opened talks with Fiorentina to sign Croatian star Nikola Kalinic, Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned. Fiorentina’s DS Pantaleo Corvino is in Milan where he has already met is Inter counterpart Piero Ausilio.

Corvino is believed to have talked about Borja Valero with the nerazzurri and later today he will also meet Mirabelli to begin transfer talks for Nikola Kalinic.

The Croat has a € 50 million release clause included in his contract but the rossoneri are hopeful that they can manage to complete the signing of the former Blackburn man for a fee in region of € 30 million.

​There is still a substantial gap between Fiorentina’s asking price and AC Milan’s offer but both parties are willing to reach an agreement.

​Mirabelli and Fassone could also talk about Milan Badelj, another Fiorentina star who is likely to leave Tuscany in the summer. The Croatia International is AC Milan’s number one alternative to Lucas Biglia.
