Exclusive: AC Milan ponder swap deal to sign former Tottenham target

AC Milan have already signed five new players and they look to finalize deals for Hakan Calhanoglu and Andrea Conti in the coming weeks.

The rossoneri, however, need to sign one more midfielder after securing the services of Franck Kessié and according to our sources they have resumed their interest in Fiorentina wantaway midfielder Milan Badelj.

The Croat’s contract at the Franchi expires in June 2018 and he has already made it clear that he won’t sign a contract extension with the Tuscans, forcing them to sell him this summer.

Tottenham had also being linked with a move for the former Hamburger SV playmaker but Spurs are believed not to be interested in the 28-year-old anymore.

AC Milan reached a verbal agreement with the Croat this past January, but they couldn’t manage to agree the player’s price-tag with Fiorentina.

Baldej is available for just € 7 million, but AC Milan are considering offering their out of favour midfielder Andrea Bertolacci in exchange for the Croatia International who has emerged as AC Milan’s no.1 alternative to Lucas Biglia.
