Exclusive: AC Milan set for transfer blow as Man Utd make Real Madrid striker their top summer target

AC Milan are known to be long time admirers of Alvaro Morata but the Spaniard has already made it clear that he’s not planning to return to Italy in the summer.

The Spaniard, a former Juventus star spent two seasons in Turin with the bianconeri and talking about his future after the Champions League final he revealed: “I’m not going to move to AC Milan. I am on good terms with Juventus fans and I don’t think I’ll make return to Italy in the summer. Permanence at Real Madrid? I don’t know, it’s difficult, let’s see.”

Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that AC Milan DS Massimiliano Mirabelli will have a conference call with the player’s agent in the next few hours. The two parties have already reached an agreement, but Morata is not willing to move to Europe.

The Spaniard, however, is considering leaving Real Madrid and Manchester United have made him their top transfer target after that Antoine Griezmann decided to stay for one more season at Atletico Madrid. The Red Devils won’t offer Zlatan Ibrahimovic a new deal and they are now considering signing a top class striker.

Andrea Belotti and Alexandre Lacazette are also being linked with a summer move to the Old Trafford but Mourinho is going to make an opening offer for Morata in the next few hours. Real Madrid’s demand is € 70 million. The Champions League winners are open to split the payment in two instalments.
