EXCLUSIVE: AC Milan to make summer bid for AS Roma, Bournemouth flop Iturbe

Juan Manuel Iturbe will return to AS Roma after his six-month loan spell at Bournemouth, the giallorossi sporting director Walter Sabatini confirmed yesterday.

The Premier League club will not activate their € 20 million clause to make Iturbe’s switch permanent, though the Argentinean winger’s stay in Rome could be close to an end too.

Iturbe completed a € 24 million switch from Verona to AS Roma in 2014, but after only five goals and five assists in 56 games with the capitolines, he moved to the Premier League on a loan deal last January, hoping to boost his career.

Unfortunately, Iturbe could only rack up two appearances in England top flight and Bournemouth are understandably not interested in extending his stay at the Dean Court.

As CM.com’s Emanuele Tramacere reports, AC Milan have entered the race to sign Iturbe in the summer. Silvio Berlusconi is a long-time admirer of the former Porto starlet, so much so he wanted to bring him to the San Siro both last summer and during the winter transfer window, involving him in a player plush cash swap deal with Stephan El Shaarawy.

There are still no news regarding the AC Milan’s future, but what we can say so far is that Iturbe could be one of AC Milan’s reinforcements for next season.
