EXCLUSIVE Borioni: Juventus have their fans eating humble pie again

    • Stefano Borioni translated by M.G.
Italian critics (myself included) have a problem when it comes to talking about Juventus. The same goes for fans who post on social media, not to mention the Old Lady's front office. They're all on the same boat... or should that be roller coaster?

It’s incredible how many people have changed their minds this season's and we're only four months in!

Two months ago, I wrote that Zaza can be Juventus' new star. A fan quickly answered that Zaza "can play for Carpi, for Bologna, but not for Juve”.

Of course, I made a few mistakes along the way too: I criticized Allegri for using Dybala in the wrong position. Well, I have to admit that Allegri was right.

Juve are a problem for the critics because they are out of the box: Roma are still going through a crisis because they let their bas results get to them. Juve simply reacted with unexpected strenght. And everybody was sure that Roma had a temper.

At the beginning of the season, Juve seemed bereft of both skill and ideas.
Now Allegri has rediscovered the 3-5-2, and they are strong and compact once again.

Due to its endless injuries, it seemed that the Piedmontese club had done everything wrong on the transfer market.

Now Zaza, Rugani and –most of all- Alex Sandro- are considered great signings.

After a few matches, Juve were considered out of the Scudetto race.

Now they are the favourites again, even if Inter are still six points ahead, and the Bianconeri trail both Napoli and Fiorentina.

Juventus is the kind of club that can make its critics think again. Having summoned their inner strength and stunned us all once more, we'll think twice before dismissing them next time.
