Exclusive: Chelsea and Fiorentina could swap Cuadrado for Bernardeschi and Badelj

It looks like Marcos Alonso isn’t the only Fiorentina player that Chelsea could end up recruiting this year.

The 25 million Spaniard has been a huge success at Stamford Bridge, taking over the right wingback position since Coach Antonio Conte switched his side to a 3-5-2.

It’s Conte who is now looking for more players from the Franchi Stadium, and recent contacts with Fiorentina saw the names of Milan Badelj and Nenad Tomovic be mentioned the most.

Though the defender doesn’t look like a realistic target for Conte at the moment, his Croatian team-mate could well be. Though Fiorentina’s director of sport, Pantaleo Corvino, has often repeated that big names (like Badelj) won’t leave, Chelsea seem ready to make an offer big enough that the Della Valle brothers simply can’t ignore it.

Conte is also a big fan of Federico Bernardeschi, another name to keep an eye on in the coming weeks. Remember, the former Italy Coach was the first to call Bernardeschi up, and even took him to Euro 2016.

Beyond that, Fiorentina are looking for players themselves: how about Juan Cuadrado, who still belongs to the Blues, but doesn’t seem to be able to find room in Conte’s system, especially now that Victor Moses is thriving?
