Exclusive: Chiellini set for new Juventus contract, Conte wanted him at Chelsea

Juventus star Giorgio Chiellini is set to pen a contract extension with the Old Lady, sources have told Calciomercato.com.

Our transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano claims that talks between the two parties are ongoing and that an agreement is close to being reached. Chiellini has already an economic agreement with the Old Lady but the two parties still need to decided whether the extension of the experienced centre-back will be of one or two years.

The current agreement of Chiellini in Turin expires at the end of the season but there are no chances to see him leave Juventus at the end of the season.

We can also exclusively report that Antonio Conte wanted to sign Chiellini last summer. The Italian had tried to persuade Chiellini to move to Chelsea to try a different experience. The Italy star, however, snubbed a move to the Stamford Bridge as he wanted to end his career at Juventus. The Serie A giants will soon match the player’s expectations.
