EXCLUSIVE: Conte plans raid on former club for Asamoah

Last season was a nightmare. This season, a step forwards. The next one, hopefully, will be a return to his usual levels. The past 18 months for Kwadwo Asamoah have been far from easy, and yet despite hardly featuring because of injury, the Ghana midfielder still remains highly rated by his previous and current coach. Whenever possible, Max Allegri has always considered him the first alternative to Paul Pogba and Sami Khedira (“It’s hard to leave Asamoah out” were the words of Allegri after the win over Roma in January). In the meantime, London is also calling, with Chelsea, under strict orders from incoming coach Antonio Conte, seriously interested in the midfielder.

NOT JUST ASAMOAH – Also on the agenda between the two clubs is the future of Juan Cuadrado, who Juventus hope to keep next season as well, even if the Colombian speed merchant appears to be a part of Conte’s plans when he takes the Chelsea hotseat after EURO 2016. There is said to be a very open relationship between the English and Italian club, also because of the number of Chelsea players that could be of potential interest to Juventus such as Matic and Oscar. For the moment though it is Chelsea looking to buy, having made an enquiry for Asamoah, with the Turin giants open to negotiating for a fee not inferior to 18-20 million euros. A price tag that won’t scare money bags Chelsea, eager to satisfy their incoming coach’s demands ahead of next season.
