EXCLUSIVE: Juve, Mauricio Isla the key to sign Mario Lemina on a permanent deal

Juventus want to keep Mario Lemina at the J Stadium for one more season at least, and possibly make his loan switch from Olympique de Marseille permanent, CM.com’s Nicola Balice reports.

The Ligue1 side financial situation is everything but rosy, that’s why they’ve informed Juventus that they are not interested in extending Mario Lemina’s loan deal for one more season as they are in desperate need of fresh cash.

Lemina, 22, joined the J Stadium on a loan deal last summer. Juventus’ € 9.5 million option to buy expires tonight at midnight, but the Old Lady is not eager to spend that amount of money for a player who has been proving to be very talented and promising, but whose knee injury has also affected part of his campaign.

Juventus want to see him in action for an entire season before investing money on his permanent move. The Serie A side won’t offer more than € 5 million at this stage, but Chilean right-back Mauricio Isla could play a vital role in negotiations.

The former Udinese star walked the opposite path than Lemina in the summer and Olympique de Marseille have a € 7 million option to buy him on a permanent basis.

No need to highlight that the French side does not have that amount of money and Juventus could propose a player-plus cash swap deal involving Isla to seal Lemina’s permanent J Stadium transfer.
