    What is the situation with Juventus’ pursuit of Thiago Silva, something that the newspapers have been reporting on in the last few days?

    Our sources tell us that the Bianconeri haven’t got much of a chance of nabbing him on a free, with the Brazilian’s current deal expiring in 2018 and president Nasser Al Khelaifi choosing to offer the former Milan man a new deal, one that would run until 2020.
     
    The negotiations are also focussing on a high release clause, as well as setting a date for a future meeting.
     
    The Bianconeri aren’t just scared off by the renewal, but also Thiago’s salary, which is around the €12 million mark.
     
    If things continue like this, it looks like the Old Lady will be looking for a different defender next summer, likely a younger one.

    Silva has made 106 league appearances with the Parisians, scoring 5 goals, the same amount he netted when he was with AC Milan.
