Exclusive: Man City send scouts to watch Serie A wonderkid

Manchester City are interested in signing Genoa starlet Pietro Pellegri, the second millennial to make Serie A debut this season after Juventus’ wonderkid Moise Kean. Pellegri is a 15-year-old striker under contract with the grifone and the team’s boss Ivan Juric offered him a chance to make Serie A debut last week-end, playing him in the second half of Genoa’s away clash to Torino.

Calciomercato.com has exclusively learned that Manchester City have sent their best scouts to monitor the performances of this promising striker who has five goals in 14 appearances with Genoa Primavera team. Pellegri’s qualities have led Genoa’s president Enrico Preziosi to say that the talented hit-man will become Genoa’s Leonel Messi.

The comparison is definitely exaggerated, but Pellegri is definitely one of Italy’s most promising striker and the interest of both Manchester City and Juventus can only confirm how good Pellegri is. The Old Lady has already made contact with the player’s entourage, but Genoa are also willing to offer their promising striker a contract extension, whilst Manchester City are keeping a close eye on the wonderkid.
