EXCLUSIVE Romano: Adrianogate may scupper Guarin move, Inter transfers

Only a few hours ago, Fredy Guarin appeared destined to go to China. Luiz Adriano, for his part, was already on a plane there, and had been photographed with the club's scarf.

A night is a long time in football. Citing a lack of financial guarantees and Jiangsu Suning's U-Turn on his 8 million-a-year salary, the former Shakhtar Donetsk striker decided to return to Milan, leaving the Rossoneri with a 15 million hole in their January transfer kitty.

Now, Adrianogate has led Fredy Guarin and agent Jefferson Ferreyra to doubt the Colombian's move to China, and have asked the recently-acquired club for guarantees on his 21 million deal, spread out over 3 years.

This will certainly prolong the operation, and maybe even derail it, and prevent Inter from reeling in 18 million. For a start, the Colombian will need new documents even if he and the clubs decide to go ahead with the deal.

Gervinho's case with Roma is also under threat, though his move to Jiangsu had yet to be agreed on. The Chinese Premier League club had offered 11/12 million to Roma, and Gervinho was so loyal to Rudi Garcia that he was ready to consider leaving the capital.

The Ivorian international still wants to mull things over, and he'll now want to find out more from Jiangsu's emissaries, who are in Italy and in a rather embarassing position. The message to them is quite clear: they can either give some assurances, or risk losing all three of their marquee Serie A signings.
