EXCLUSIVE Romano: Juventus, Inter, chase young Corinthians

Juventus and Inter are still working on developing their South American connections, especially in Brazil.

As we've reported on a number of occasions, the Bianconeri are hot on the heels of Corinthians youngster Matheus Pereira, despite interest from Porto and Atletico Madrid.

What's the situation? Well, the Bianconeri are very close to signing the youngster, and they have an agreement with the Timao over a €2-million deal. The only thing that's stopping them is Pereira's passport: were his family to obtain an Italian or a Spanish one (through his ancestry), the Old Lady would be able to reel him in directly.

Otherwise, they'll look to involve an accomplice [Sassuolo? ed] in order to bring him to Italy.

For Inter, on the other hand, the situation is a tad more complicated. They hope to convince Guilherme Aranha, a promising 18-year-old full-back whose entourage are hot for a move to Europe. Director of Sport Ausilio hopes to convince Aranha, so that he can put pressure on the Timao, who are holding out for more money, with Portuguese and Premier League club having expressed an interest too.

Either way, they're also likely to involve a "friendly" club to bring Aranha over, this time Chievo... or maybe Bologna, with the Beneamata likely to contact DS Pantaleo Corvino soon.
