EXCLUSIVE Romano: Why Inter are hostile to Wesley Sneijder's return

We begin the weekend with a shocking piece of news: according to Sky Sports, Wesley Sneijder has personally contacted Roberto Mancini and offered himself to Inter Milan!

Tired of current club Galatasaray, the former Holland star wants to rejoin his former manager in Istanbul, and is willing to take a paycut. Sneijder is apparently the object of an offer from Everton, who would immediately snap him up if they could.

The 32-year-old is still very attached to Milan, and could represent an interesting option, as he's scored 30 SuperLig goals over the last four seasons.

There are problems, however, as transfer expert Fabrizio Romano points out: first and foremost, Il Mancio wants to use Ever Banega in the playmaker role, and Sneijder isn't a fit for its alternative, the 4-3-3.

Moreover, the Dutchman would still cost a bit in terms of salary, and Galatasaray would want something for him. He's also 32, and fellow transfer connections Antonio Candreva and Lucas Biglia are hardly the youngest, either. Inter are, in other words, rather iffy about the whole thing. Is the EPL in Sneijder's future?
