EXCLUSIVE: WHY Roma won’t hire Mazzarri to replace Garcia as manager

    • Lorenzo Bettoni (@lorebetto), adapted from article by Pasquale Guarro
Rudi Garcia is on the verge of sack at Roma as Giallorossi failed to beat struggling AC Milan in a Stadio Olimpico clash on Saturday evening.

Roma sit 5th in Serie A, six points behind table leaders Inter, but Roberto Mancini’s side have one game in hand alongside Juventus and Napoli who will play tomorrow against Sampdoria and Frosinone, while Inter will face Sassuolo at home.

A number of managers have been linked with Rudi Garcia’s job over the last few weeks, including Marcello Lippi, José Mourinho, Fabio Capello, Walter Mazzarri, Antonio Conte and Luciano Spalletti, but calciocmercato.com has exclusively learned that one of those won’t be the next Giallorossi boss.

Pasquale Guarro, in fact, can exclusively reveal that former Inter head coach Walter Mazzarri, who’s currently living in Manchester, was not offered Rudi Garcia’s job even if Walter Sabatini was spotted with Marrarri's aget Andrea D'Amico in the stands during Chievo v Roma last week.

According to Guarro, the duo didn’t talk about Walter Mazzari as a possible replacement of Rudi Garcia as Roma boss.

The Italian manager, who’s still under contract with Inter until next June, has received no offers from Italian clubs and would like to join a foreign club in the future.
