Fiorentina chase Avellino youth, Napoli and Genoa also in hunt
It looks like savvy youth scout Pantaleo Corvino is up to his old tricks again: the recently-reinstated Fiorentina director of sport is interested in acquiring a promising young striker, Lorenzo Pizi.
The 17-year-old Avellino striker isn't just a prospect worth acquiring, he would also help Fiorentina respect UEFA's new directives on integrating youths in A-team squads.
Pizi's agent confirmed the news today.
“Pizi is a player whose value is unquestioned, though he's struggled to express all his potential this season, “ Riccardo Napolitano told Fiorentinanews.com, “I've spoken about him to Corvino, and Fiorentina are interested in him. They're not the only ones, as Genoa, Napoli and Benevento are also in the race”.
