The possibility to see John Carew in Italy is even more distant. There have been rumors that the Norwegian player was ready to return, with Fiorentina and Sampdoria first choices.

But, according to information gathered by calciomercato.com, it is not likely that Carew will be back in Italy: it’s true that his relationship with Aston Villa coach, Gerard Houllier, is at a low, but this does not necessarily mean that his future will be in Italy.

Per Arne Flod, agent of the player, told calciomercato.com: "A future in Italy? I do not know, the papers print many things that are not true - he says - I am currently in Japan and I must say that it is an interesting market, also for John". On Fiorentina and Sampdoria he would say nothing, "We'll talk again: now I do not intend to comment, this is a delicate moment".
